Per 1/2 Cup Meat
1 protein & 1 fat serving
2 lbs. top round steak
1 jalepeno (optional)
1/4 yellow onion, diced
1 cup salsa
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne
1/4 cup green onion, chopped
Dash of sea salt
Turn on crockpot or instant pot for desired cooking time.
*I wanted this done fast, so I did 30 minutes in pressure cooker.
Cut top round into four large pieces, place in pot, sprinkle with spices and add in onion, green onion and jalapeno.
*Cutting into large pieces allows it to cook through more evenly.
Once the meat begins to brown, take out and shred.
Place shredded meat back in pot and add salsa.
Stir all ingredients well and allow meat to finish cooking. Enjoy!
