1.5 carb serving
3 3/4 cup 1:1 Gluten free or regular baking flour
1 packet dry yeast
1 TBS honey
1 1/2 tsp dry basil
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp minced garlic
1 1/2 cup warm water
1 tsp salt
1 TBS melted butter
9 cups water
1/2 cup baking soda
Set oven to 400 and line two baking sheets with either parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Grease lightly to prevent sticking.
Start by mixing yeast in 1 1/2 cup warm water. Allow to sit for one minute before adding honey, salt, garlic powder, minced garlic, basil and 1 TBS melted butter.
Mix above ingredients together and then begin adding in flour by 1 cup servings. By cup three, you should have a very thick dough.
When dough is no longer sticky, lightly flour a flat surface and knead dough for about 2 minutes into a large ball. Cover with a towel for 5-10 minutes.
While dough is setting, begin to boil water bath ingredients.
After dough has sat, divide into 12 even dough balls. Roll each ball out into about 10 inch strands. Either twist into knot shape, or don't hesitate making fun shapes with them too.
When water is boiling, drop in two pretzels at a time. Let them sit in water for 25-30 seconds and then remove with slotted spoon to be placed on baking sheet.
Do this for all pretzels and then top with melted butter and garlic salt.
Bake for about 13-15 minutes. Allow to cool and enjoy!
